Nestled in the picturesque coastal village of Boğaz in Northern Cyprus, Körfez Restaurant is a hidden gem that promises an exceptional dining experience. While the restaurant is renowned for its fresh seafood, it also offers a variety of dishes to cater to all tastes, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the area.
A Culinary Delight
Upon arrival, the unassuming exterior of Körfez might suggest a modest establishment but step inside and you’ll find a surprisingly spacious venue. The restaurant boasts several dining areas, including a terrace with breathtaking sea views, a serene garden by the water, a sea patio and a main building with a large bar and of course, stunning views. Each area offers a unique ambiance, ensuring a memorable dining experience regardless of where you choose to sit.

I visited Körfez on a weekday for lunch and opted to sit on the terrace by the sea. The tranquility of the setting, coupled with the stunning vistas, made for an idyllic dining atmosphere. Despite the quiet weekday afternoon, the restaurant was comfortably busy with around a dozen occupied tables, reflecting its popularity even during off-peak hours.
A Feast for the Senses
Though seafood is the star at Körfez, the menu includes a variety of options to suit all preferences. As someone who isn’t a huge seafood fan, I was delighted by the diversity of the offerings. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of rosé accompanied by a rocket and feta cheese salad and chicken goujons served with potato wedges and veggies. The dish was tasty, with the chicken goujons crispy on the outside and tender inside, perfectly complemented by the flavourful salad and hearty sides.
For those who love seafood, Körfez does not disappoint. We also sampled the salmon salad and a vegetable and feta salad, both of which were fresh and delicious. Additionally, a small selection of mezze, including hummus, olives, cacik and bread, was brought to our table unprompted. This delightful surprise added an extra touch to our meal, showcasing the restaurant’s generosity and commitment to hospitality.

A Sweet Surprise
To cap off an already delightful meal, Körfez treated us to a complimentary serving of Turkish Revani cake for dessert. Revani is a traditional Turkish dessert made from semolina and soaked in sweet syrup. Its moist texture and balanced sweetness made it one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. This unexpected treat was a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience.
A Must-Visit Destination
Körfez Restaurant offers more than just great food; it provides an experience. The views from the terrace are simply stunning, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal by the sea. The combination of a diverse menu, excellent service and beautiful surroundings makes Körfez a standout choice for dining in Northern Cyprus.
Whether you’re a seafood enthusiast or prefer other culinary delights, Körfez has something for everyone. The next time you find yourself in Boğaz, make sure to visit Körfez Restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience.
