Tucked away in the rolling countryside near Korçë in south eastern Albania, Albanica Winery is a hidden gem that captures everything wonderful about rural life. It is a place where family, food and the land come together in perfect harmony. My one night there was filled with warmth, delicious food and genuine hospitality.
A Family Legacy Rooted in the Land
Albanica Winery is more than a vineyard. It is a family story that has grown through generations. The same family has cared for the vines for many years, passing down their knowledge and love for winemaking. Each generation has added something new while keeping the traditions and the heart of the place alive.

When you arrive, you are welcomed by the family themselves. They are proud of their vineyard, their animals and their garden and they love sharing their story. They will tell you how the generations before them planted the first vines, how they learned to make wine using traditional methods and how they now welcome travellers from all over the world to experience it for themselves.
From Farm to Table
Everything served at Albanica comes directly from their own land. The vegetables are freshly picked from the garden, the herbs are gathered that morning and the meat comes from animals raised with care on the family farm. Every dish is full of flavour and made with pride.

Dinner is paired with wines made right there in the vineyard. The white wines are crisp and refreshing, perfect with roasted vegetables. The red wines are rich and full bodied, ideal with their tender lamb or beef. Each glass reflects the land, the sunshine and the care that goes into every bottle.
The Wine and Produce Corner
Inside the restaurant there is a small area where you can buy everything that the family grows and makes on the vineyard. Shelves are filled with bottles of their wine, olive oil, jars of sun dried tomatoes, homemade preserves and even fresh vegetables when they are in season. Everything is produced on the estate, and it feels like taking a piece of Albanica home with you.

Apologies for the quality of the photos from the shop area. They are screenshots taken from my videos as I completely forgot to take proper pictures while I was there.
The family are always happy to explain how each product is made and to help you choose something special to remember your visit. I went for a jar of the sun dried tomatoes, which perfectly capture the taste of the Albanian sunshine and the spirit of this lovely place.
A Rest Stop with a View
If you are exploring Albania in a campervan or motorhome, Albanica Winery is a wonderful place to stay. It sits among vineyards and open hills, with peaceful views stretching across the valley. The family offers a small and quiet car park where overnight parking is free for motorhomes and campervans.
The facilities are simple but clean and convenient. There is a basic shower and toilet facility and if you need electricity there is a power hook up available for a small fee. It is the perfect stop to relax after a day of travel, surrounded by vines and wide open countryside. You can sit outside your van, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the hills near Korçë.

Views, Wine and Warmth
As the evening light fades, the vineyard glows in soft golden tones and the air fills with the scent of grapes, herbs and warm earth. The family often gathers outside to talk, laugh and pour wine, making sure every guest feels welcome. There is a wonderful sense of joy and belonging that makes this place unforgettable.
The Heart of Albanica
What truly makes Albanica Winery special is the family behind it. Their kindness, pride and generosity shine through in everything they do. They treat visitors like friends, sharing stories, smiles and a deep love for their land. A night here feels like more than a stop on a journey. It feels like being welcomed into their home.
Final Thoughts
If you are travelling through Albania or exploring the Korçë region, Albanica Winery should be on your list. The food is delicious, the wine is excellent, the views are breathtaking and the family makes every moment feel special.
Parking is free for motorhomes and campervans, with electricity available for a small charge. The setting is peaceful and beautiful and you will leave feeling rested, happy and already planning to return.
